Sujanthinee Mageswaran

Founder and Headteacher

​Sujanthinee Mageswaran was born in the village of Urumparai (Jaffna, Sri Lanka), where she was exposed to Bharatanāṭyam from the tender age of four and a half. In her early years, she would watch the dance lessons conducted by her neighbour, Pathmini Selventhirakumar of Kalaikovil Dance School, and eventually went on to study under her guidance.
 
From that point onward, Sujanthinee Mageswaran began her journey in Bharatanāṭyam as a dedicated student, attaining higher-level accomplishments under the tutelage and support of her guru.
 
Over the years, she has received numerous accolades for her solo and group Bharatanāṭyam performances — both through her formal education and under the mentorship of her guru and parents. Notably, she actively participated in many Bharatanāṭyam events held at her secondary school, Jaffna Vembadi Girls' High School.
 
Sujanthinee Mageswaran began her teaching career in Bharatanāṭyam in 1997, guiding her students to several public performances at institutions such as Kingston International College, St. Thomas College, Saiva Mangaiyar Kazhagam, and Nruthyakshetra Dancing School.
 
After relocating to London, England, she faced a significant pause in her teaching journey, unable to continue for nearly a decade. However, her passion endured, and on 9th March 2011, she founded the Aradhana School of Dancing, marking a new chapter in her lifelong dedication to Bharatanāṭyam.

Mihiran Mageswaran

Teacher at Newbury Park, Writtle, Seven Kings and Harold Hill

Mihiran Mageswaran, born into a musical lineage, is a dedicated Bharatanāṭyam teacher and choreographer. Having trained in Bharatanāṭyam since the age of four under the guidance of his mother, Smt. Sujanthinee Mageswaran, Mihiran is currently pursuing his ISTD Vocational Course in Bharatanāṭyam. He serves as a lead teacher and choreographer at Aradhana School of Dancing, where he teaches students across a wide range of levels, mentors candidates for ISTD examinations, and choreographs for many school productions. He has also played a leading role in organising and directing the school’s recent annual student showcases. Since the age of fourteen, he has also accompanied Bharatanatyam performances on Nattuvangam.

Mihiran has studied Carnatic Vocal since the age of eight under Smt. Malini Thanabalasingam, completing his Diploma with Distinction from the Academy of South Indian Music in 2023. He has performed at numerous festivals and competitions and has recently begun training in Veena under the same guidance. He has also trained in Mridangam since the age of nine under Sri Somaskantha Iyer Chandrasegaran, completing his Diploma with Distinction in 2025.

Alongside his dedication to Bharatanāṭyam and South Indian classical music, Mihiran is currently in Year 13, where he is preparing for his A-Level examinations.

Mithesha Mageswaran

Teacher at Oxford

Mithesha Mageswaran began her Bharatanāṭyam training at the age of seven under her mother, Sujanthinee Mageswaran, at Aradhana School of Dancing, growing up in a musical family for whom dance and music have always been central. She holds Distinctions across her Vocational ISTD examinations, alongside the Diploma in Dance Education and Licentiate qualifications. During her 2022–23 gap year, which she dedicated to deepening her dance practice, Mithesha performed as part of Srishti Dance Creations’ touring production, Srishti Pathways, under the direction of Nina Rajarani. Her artistic development has since continued under the guidance of Mavin Khoo, under whom she completed her debut solo recital in 2024.

Alongside her dance practice, Mithesha recently completed a Bachelor of Arts in Music at the University of Oxford, pursuing parallel interests in Western classical singing, piano, and Carnatic violin. She is also the founder of The Choral Music Hub, an initiative dedicated to creating space for emerging composers, singers, organists, and conductors at the earliest stages of their creative lives — bringing new choral music into being and building the communities around it that allow it to flourish.
